Hi beauties! I hope you’ve been having a lovely week 🙂 You don’t have to have been a follower of mine since the start of my blog to notice that my best friend, Peter, and I love to play with makeup. We’ve been doing beauty looks since we first met – it’s basically what we bonded over. He has finally launched his gorgeous website; www.PeterPratts.info! This week, we worked on two new looks.

Wait, What Season Is It?

recentlooks1

Happy Monday everyone! I hope your week has gotten off to a great start! Florida has been getting a mix of spring/autumn weather lately, and although I really wish I could bust out my over the knee boots, that probably won’t be happening until maybe later in the week. I just wanted to share two of my favorite outfits with you all, featuring some of the pieces I bought during the holiday sales.

Pantone Color of the Year – Marsala

DSC_1038

Ever since I started keeping tabs on Pantone’s Color of the Year, it hasn’t steered me wrong. 2015 is no different. In case you haven’t heard by now, Marsala is this year’s Color of the Year. Here’s a description of the color according to Pantone‘s website:

A naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls.

I’m absolutely loving it. Here’s how I recently styled the Color of the Year!

Current Obsession: ColourPop Cosmetics

DSC_0926

One of the things I got for Christmas from my dad was a box full of ColourPop items that I put on my wishlist. You may have read about them in a previous blog post, or have seen them on Instagram. They’re a fairly new company based in Los Angeles, CA that prides themselves on standing against animal testing, which is always a plus. Today I wanted to share what I got, as well as rave about the company, because I’m pretty sure I will not stop until I have every last item on their website. (I wish I was kidding.) Continue reading

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! I hope you all have a blissful and prosperous 2015. Last night I rang in the New Year with two of my closest friends at a wine bar. We had a flight of four different sparkling wines as well as a cheese plate and the best truffle mac and cheese I have ever had. Here’s a quick post for you with some outfit details! Thank you so much for following my blog; it’ll be very interesting to see where blogging will take me in the new year.

Year in Review

Dress: Altuzarra for Target (sold out) | Shoes: ShoeMint | Earrings: Baublebar (previously posted)

Happy last Monday (and last blog post) of 2014! It’s definitely been a roller coaster of a year. I’ve graduated from college, took part in my sister’s wedding, met my brother and sister-in-law’s new baby boy, won an amazing contest, and traveled to some cool places (NYC, Philadelphia, and Canada). It’s also been a crucial year for my fashion and beauty habits. I just wanted to take the time to share with you some of the most important lessons I’ve learned this year, as well as some resolutions for 2015!

Ugly-ish Christmas Sweater Party

DSC_0850

Merry (almost) Christmas everyone! Although it doesn’t feel like Christmas in Florida (it’s been in the high 70’s-low 80’s lately), I decided to get into the holiday spirit on Tuesday with some friends. The One Direction special was on television (refer to my 1D Orlando post), followed by a viewing of their Where We Are Tour DVD, and what felt like a twenty second interview on Jimmy Fallon, so of course my friends and I had to tune in. Since I went to New York right after finals, I didn’t have as much time to go all out like I wanted to, but I think I was able to pull it off!  Continue reading

Nubiana Takes New York City

Hello lovelies! I just got back from my trip to NYC. It went by so quickly…I wish I could’ve stayed for the entire month I have off of school. Aside from family gatherings, I had a really good time shopping in the city, seeing the holiday window displays, and watching Cinderella on Broadway. Surprisingly, I didn’t get sick. I would like to think that’s on account of my superb layering skills. I just wanted to share some of the highlights of my trip with you all, I hope you enjoy! If you need any recommendations on places to go, where to shop, etc. I would be more than happy to help 🙂 Just leave a comment!  Continue reading

Black Friday Mini-Haul: Beauty

Hello loves! I’m currently on vacation in NY, so I thought I would share the beauty part of my Black Friday/Cyber Monday haul with you all, as well as a few of my shopping tips for the shopaholic’s favorite holiday. I scored some pretty great deals 🙂 Please don’t mind the eyeshadow swatches, this was my first time doing them, and I thought for some reason I could get away with doing them really quickly with my fingers…if I swatch things next time, they’ll be a lot better, I promise!

Here are some quick tips to take note of for next year:
– Follow your favorite beauty brands on Instagram and sign up for their newsletter. You never know what special deals you might be able to get before everyone else!
– Become familiar with the sales from previous years and whether or not the company has been hinting toward a bigger sale than the previous year.
– Make a list of items that you know are going to be on sale, as well as a budget for them.
– Check out blogs that compile lists of the best beauty deals, such as Temptalia, College Fashion, and Refinery29.

Crop Tops + Midi Skirts

Photo Sep 14, 7 59 02 AM

(Crop Top: Charlotte Russe (old) | Midi Skirt: Cache (old) | Necklace: H&M (similar) | Shoes: Lola Shoetique)

It looks like crop tops aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Ever since its revival early last year, crop tops have been paired with almost everything you can think of no matter the season. This fall, I’ve been seeing a lot of matching crop top and skirt/pants sets, as well as crop tops paired with midi skirts. This past weekend, at a fashion networking event, I sported the latter (it looks like it’s a full length top, but my midi skirt is extremely high-waisted). I’m absolutely loving this trend, since it allows more coverage and makes me feel more comfortable sporting crop tops in the day time (to places that aren’t outdoors). Perhaps the most popular advocate of this trend is Kim Kardashian West, whose toned, curvy figure looks amazing in the crop top/midi skirt sets she sports. Although Kimmy looks amazing flaunting her abs, I’ve put together a basic set with a little more variety. First we’ll start with a basic black cropped tee from American Apparel and try a full midi skirt, high-waisted bodycon midi skirt, and a lace midi skirt:

From there, feel free to accessorize with your favorite fall statement jewelry, pointy-toed pumps, and your favorite clutch! Is this a trend you’ll be trying this fall? What are some other trends you’re looking forward to?
